- Status
- Preview. It may not appear in your installed version until it ships in the Chrome Web Store release.
- Needs
- A Proofline account and organization
- Optional
- Every feature here also works with your own keys and accounts
What the connection adds
- AI with credits. Issue summaries, session titles, page vocabulary and transcription run through Proofline and use Proofline credits. You do not need a provider key.
- Automatic defaults. Proofline chooses the models by default. Advanced settings let you pick a model when you want to.
- Private hosted reports. Host a report on Proofline instead of setting up a Cloudflare project.
- GitHub issues through the GitHub App. File into repositories where your organization installed the Proofline GitHub App, without a token per repository.
Credits
Proofline grants 10,000 credits once, after your organization completes onboarding and installs the Proofline GitHub App. Signing up alone does not grant credits, and the grant does not repeat. Choose the paying organization in extension settings; your personal organization is selected by default when available. Each AI request uses credits from that organization’s balance. See Proofline pricing for plans and credit allowances.
When the balance reaches zero, paid AI pauses. The extension says so and offers two choices: add credits, or switch the feature to your own provider key. It does not switch providers for you.
Who can read a hosted report
- The members you select from the report’s Proofline workspace.
- People you invite. Readers outside your workspace need a free Proofline account; they do not need to install the GitHub App.
A hosted report stays until you delete it, within your workspace’s configurable storage quota. Deleting the local recording does not delete the hosted report.
What stays the same
- Recording, annotation, local storage and ZIP export need no account, connected or not.
- The extension stays free and open source under the AGPL-3.0.
- Your own keys, Cloudflare publishing and per-repository GitHub tokens remain available.
- Redaction still runs at capture time, before anything is stored or sent.
Data
For the features you run through Proofline, the extension sends Proofline the same data it would otherwise send to your providers: text evidence for AI, recorded audio for transcription, and the report and its media for hosting. The Session Recorder privacy policy describes this processing.
Get started
Install the extension, then sign in to Proofline from its settings when connected mode reaches your version. To set up an organization now, get started with Proofline.
Record your next bug instead of describing it
Session Recorder is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0. Recording and ZIP export need no account. AI, transcription and publishing are optional: use your own providers, whose charges apply, or use credits with the optional Proofline connection preview when it reaches your installed version.
