Connect Session Recorder to Proofline
Connect a Proofline account to use Proofline credits for AI, host private reports and file issues through the Proofline GitHub App. The connection is optional and in preview: it may not appear in your installed version yet, and its detailed behavior can change before release.
Session Recorder stays free without an account. If your version has no Proofline settings page, use your own keys: AI summaries, protected publishing and GitHub issues.
Connect your account#
- Open Settings → Proofline in Session Recorder.
- Select Connect Proofline.
- Approve the sign-in in the browser tab that opens. The extension shows a code to match. Select Cancel to stop.
After you connect, the page shows your Proofline login and organization.
Choose who pays#
Under Workspace paying for usage, select the organization whose credits pay for AI. Your personal workspace is marked (personal). Switching the paying workspace requires a new browser approval. The page shows that workspace’s credit balance; select Refresh to update it.
Proofline grants 10,000 credits once, after your organization finishes Proofline onboarding and installs the Proofline GitHub App. Signing up alone does not grant credits, and the grant does not repeat.
Choose what uses Proofline#
Open Settings → Services. Select Use Proofline for AI and sharing to switch everything at once, or set each option:
- AI usage: Personal API keys or Proofline credits.
- Report hosting: My Cloudflare account or Proofline · private.
- GitHub issue creation: Personal repository tokens or Proofline GitHub App.
Issue creation through the Proofline GitHub App uses Proofline report hosting, and choosing your Cloudflare account switches issue creation back to personal tokens. While a feature uses Proofline, its own settings page shows Using Proofline and keeps your personal settings below.
With Proofline credits, Proofline chooses the model automatically. To pick one, open Advanced model settings in Settings → Services and enter a Model override.
If the paying workspace requires zero-retention model routing, Proofline AI needs an attested provider account. Managed transcription is unavailable under that requirement. An organization administrator manages zero-retention routing.
When credits run out#
When the paying workspace has no credits, Proofline AI stops instead of switching to another provider. Add credits in Proofline, or open Settings → Services and set AI usage to Personal API keys. A failed request shows: “Proofline could not finish this AI request. Check your workspace credits and try again.”
Who can read hosted reports#
Only the workspace members you select and people you invite can open a private report. Invited readers outside the workspace need a free Proofline account; they do not need to install the GitHub App. A hosted report stays until you delete it, within your workspace’s storage quota. Deleting the local recording does not delete it.
See Proofline connection for what is sent to Proofline.
Reconnect or disconnect#
Open Settings → Proofline to manage the connection.
- Change account connects a different Proofline account.
- Reconnect appears when the connection expires. Until you reconnect, features set to Proofline cannot run.
- Disconnect removes the connection. Choose personal options in Settings → Services to keep using AI, hosting and issue filing.
A report or issue started with one workspace finishes only with that workspace connected. Reconnect it if the extension asks.
