What these terms cover
They cover the Proofline website at proofline.sh and use of the Proofline service, including evaluation and design partner use, unless you and Proofline Dev, Inc. have signed an agreement covering the same subject. Where a signed agreement and these terms disagree, the signed agreement governs.
Using the website or the service means you accept these terms.
Eligibility and authority
You must be able to enter into a contract to use the service. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization, and "you" means both you and it.
Authorized use
Connect only the repositories, cloud accounts and other systems you are authorized to connect, and use the service only to review your own changes and environments.
Do not attempt to reach another customer's data, interfere with the service or the systems it runs on, or use the service to break the law or someone else's rights. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us at once if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Deployment decisions are yours
Proofline reports findings and the evidence behind them. You decide what to merge, what to deploy and what to roll back, and you remain responsible for those decisions and for the operation of your own systems.
A review reports the failures Proofline can support with evidence, not every failure a change could cause, and it can be incomplete when the evidence it needs is missing, stale or unreachable. Read a Proofline review as one input to your decision, alongside your own testing and judgment.
Your data and your permissions
You keep your rights in the data the service reads and produces for you. You give Proofline Dev, Inc. permission to process that data to provide, secure and support the service.
You confirm that you hold the permissions needed for Proofline to read the systems you connect, and that connecting them does not break an agreement you have with someone else. What Proofline does with the data is described in the privacy notice.
Proofline's intellectual property
The website, the service and everything in them other than your data remain the property of Proofline Dev, Inc. and its licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service as described here and no rights of ownership in it. Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer the service except where the law says you may.
Feedback
If you send us feedback about the product, we may use it to improve the service without any obligation to you and without it becoming confidential.
Third-party services
The service connects to systems that other companies operate, such as GitHub and AWS. Your use of those systems is governed by your own agreements with them. Proofline Dev, Inc. does not control them and is not responsible for what they do or fail to do.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. Proofline Dev, Inc. may suspend or end access to protect the service, its users or a third party, or if these terms are broken. Terms that by their nature should outlast the agreement, such as the disclaimer and the limitation of liability, do.
Disclaimer
The website and the service are provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Proofline Dev, Inc. disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Proofline Dev, Inc. does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that a review will report every failure a change could cause.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Proofline Dev, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or business interruption, arising out of or relating to the website or the service, even if it has been told such damages are possible.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain damages. Where that is so, the exclusions above apply only as far as the law allows.
Changes to these terms
Proofline Dev, Inc. may change these terms. The effective date at the top of the page changes when it does, and using the website or the service after a change means the new terms apply.
