What Bugbot reviews
Bugbot reviews pull requests for bugs, security issues, and code quality problems. It supports automatic and manual reviews, with project rules to guide its feedback.
Review comments can open findings in Cursor or its web agents. With Autofix configured, Bugbot can use a cloud agent to prepare fixes. See the Bugbot documentation for its review and fix workflow.
What Proofline checks
Proofline reviews an exact code revision using recorded facts about the selected deployment environment. Supported read-only integrations supply the infrastructure configuration needed for the assessment.
Each finding connects a code change to a failure mechanism and suggests a fix. It cites the evidence behind the conclusion and keeps gaps visible. Read what a Proofline finding contains.
A policy edit removes a required permission
In this illustrative change, a policy replaces s3:GetObject with s3:GetObjectVersion. The API’s startup code still reads an object without specifying a version.
The code identifies the operation the API needs. A deployment assessment also needs the workload’s identity, its applicable policies, and the object it accesses.
If the policy change removes the workload’s remaining permission for that read, startup can fail with an access error. Restoring the required permission for the intended object addresses the mismatch.
The review must account for other applicable grants before concluding that the workload loses access. Read the simulated permission review.
When a code fix needs an infrastructure check
Choose Bugbot when you want pull request feedback connected to an agent-assisted fix. Add Proofline when the change also needs a check against deployed permissions, capacity, or network configuration.
For a policy change, inspect the identity and resource named in the finding. Check the cited policies, then review the revised change against the target environment.
This comparison describes documented workflows. The permission example is illustrative and does not establish a measured advantage over Bugbot.
