Complete guided setup
Use the setup flow on Home to connect repositories, describe their environments, and check access before the first review.
Choose repositories and environments#
- Complete GitHub setup and grant the app access to the repositories you need.
- In Repositories, select the repositories to review.
- In Environments, choose how each repository deploys and the environment it reaches.
- Connect the required accounts and choose their resource scope.
- In Developers, review seat assignments.
- Check Finish for any remaining setup problems.
When setup offers recommendations, use Show all or search to find another repository or deployment. Administrators use the setup conversation by default. Type “not sure” when you cannot confirm an answer, or /explain for help with the current question.
In Installation, Setup Proofline presents questions as a conversation. Answer in the prompt, which shows text, radio choices or checkboxes for the current question. Select a single choice to answer immediately. For multiple choices or text, use the send arrow.
Hover over an earlier answer or focus it with the keyboard to reveal its pen button. Select the pen to change that answer and continue from that decision. Cancel restores the original conversation and unsent text. You can also type a correction in the prompt. Changing an answer does not undo a saved configuration or a cloud operation; review and confirm those changes separately.
For AWS resource scope, answer the resource types, region and each resource question in turn. Required-field messages appear below the input. If a resource listing fails, resolve the reported access problem or enter known resource names; a failed listing does not mean the account has no resources.
Set up later defers the repository and its environment drafts. Restore it when you are ready to finish its setup. A request for deployment reviews on an unsupported delivery system does not enable those reviews; pull request setup can continue.
Confirm discovered topology#
When Setup shows a Topology interview, inspect each question's source evidence before answering. An organization administrator selects Confirm topology. Review Confirmed answers afterward.
Inspect any Customer-applied installer before applying it through your cloud workflow. Rendering an installer or confirming topology does not grant cloud access by itself. Complete the access and evidence checks shown for the environment.
Resume or restart setup#
Return to Home to continue saved setup. If another session changed the draft, review the conflict and reload the saved values before continuing.
The setup conversation restores its saved messages and current question when you return to Installation. Unsubmitted AWS resource answers also survive a reload in the same browser tab; complete the resource questions to save the scope.
Where Start setup again is available, an administrator can restart an environment's setup attempt. It keeps resource selections and connections and saves the previous attempt. The new attempt needs fresh access and evidence checks. Existing reviews and other environments remain unchanged.
Use the environment's Setup and Evidence coverage pages to resolve the specific checks that remain incomplete.
