Ask questions about a review

Use Discussion on a completed pull request review to ask about its recorded evidence. Console answers stay in Proofline and do not post to GitHub.

Ask a question#

  1. Open the completed review and select Discussion.
  2. Under Ask a question, enter your Question.
  3. Select Ask question and wait for the answer.
  4. Inspect its citations and limitations before acting on it.

Questions require organization membership, current repository access, and an operational browser session. A read-only view cannot submit them. An answer uses the review's recorded context; asking does not rerun the review against newer code or infrastructure.

Questions you ask here, in Slack, and in Discord count toward one hourly limit. When you reach it, Proofline refuses new questions until an earlier question is more than an hour old.

Continue a conversation#

Choose an entry under Saved conversations to reopen it. Use Load earlier messages for older messages or New conversation to begin a separate discussion about the same review.

If submission is uncertain, Retry question checks the same question rather than starting a separate request. Resolve a reported access refusal before retrying.

Read GitHub answers#

GitHub answers shows recorded answers from the pull request, with the commit each answer used. It is separate from your console conversations. Use Load earlier answers to read older entries.

An administrator configures limits for GitHub questions under Pull request questions in Organization → Reviews → Models. An answer that reaches its credit limit ends without a conclusion.
