Prepare Terraform changes

Use Terraform changes to prepare connection setup in a repository that manages cloud infrastructure with Terraform.

Map the Terraform root#

  1. Open Organization → Terraform changes.
  2. Start a new Terraform change.
  3. Select the repository and its Terraform root.
  4. Choose the cloud provider and provider name or alias.
  5. Select the connections owned by that root.
  6. Save the entry and inspect the generated change.

Connect the relevant AWS or Google Cloud account first. Choose the root that actually owns the connection's infrastructure.

Review before authorizing#

Read the proposed files and scope before authorizing a pull request. Preparing a change and authorizing a repository write are separate steps.

Use your team's normal review and Terraform apply workflow for the resulting change. A generated pull request does not mean the cloud configuration is applied.

Verify the connection#

After applying the change, return to the connection and run its verification. Resolve any remaining setup issues before relying on its evidence.
